Are you kidding me, Father?

On this day of your life, Shawn, we believe God wants you to know ... that how bad things may look right now means nothing, - it's how good they can be with God's help that counts.
In life you can absolutely count on one thing, - everything can turn around in one day, in one minute sometimes. Don't you dare to give up, - you might be a moment away from a windfall.

"You think its as easy as snapping my fingers? The temptation was never about what that was spoken. It was about you. You think i think too much? That's because your dad sets such a high benchmark for me to overcome. I want you, and I want you to be happy"

A chain of unexpected events...

"So there you go, an unexpected all expense settled trip to the KLCC bridge, a portable fire extinguisher, a meet up with an old fren, meeting up with radio people, gathering and meeting up the hottest chic on my FB list.... And to top it up, I already have plans set up for Deepavalli, Christmas and New Years day countdown already. Seriously, an oversea trip, a pending oversea trip and a visit from a close friend from oversea.

Just when you think life can't get any better, it does. Just wish that i have more time to fit it all."

Let me start of with Wednesday (I am still overwhelmed by the presence of Ipad). Okay, anyway, I was involved with Malaysian Insurance Institute for the training. At the end of the day, an ad-hoc visit to the KLCC bridge was included as MII's value added entertainment. FOC and I don't have to make the 3 hour queue for it. Being a KL boy, I am embarrassed that I took 13 years to step foot there.
Riding the elevator

At the bridge
More pix....

At the final day of training, it included a visit to Fire Fighter Sdn Bhd, a company established by my uni mate. I haven't seen her since I took over her Melbourne room 4 years ago. At the end of the day, I got a gift from her.. N here goes...

1 kg ABC powder portable fire extinguisher.. lol... Market price RM75

Her family is also involved in setting the Fullhouse at Sunway Giza, her mum invited me and Suet Li to have lunch at the restaurant. Little did i realize that it was a food testing with some radio people from One, Fly and Hot FM people... The food was fantastic. Not only that it is, those food are specially cooked and it's off the menu food...

The restaurant (Not my pic)
The people..
And it doesn't end there, my "mami" came over with the Singapore people for the a low profile gathering. We had happy hour at KL Life, and went up for Japanese and then 2nd round of Happy hour at Overtime. After which, i brought them to A&W for curly fries and bring them for their to die for maggi goreng and back to Ascott. The best thing is, I am seeing them again plus the hottest FB chic ever tmrw... Hehe.. Can't wait, Joyce Chow @ Times Square... And I am already having other plans in the morning with my family, evening a full month party, midnite, a sing k session... Busy busy busy...

October 24th update...

To top it all up, i went to Hong Kong for 6 days. Once i set foot back in Malaysia, i received 3 emails inviting me for an interview on Monday, and then a wedding reception tonite and a KPI to do immediately on Monday morning.... Unexpected events set to continue..

The Singapore day

I have got so much to blog... I start off with my ONE day Singapore trip. Objective of trip BUSINESS...

Once i walked out of Changi terminal 1, i saw burger king breakfast, with pork BACON. PORK, i tell you.. I knew i had to have it..

The Enormous Omelette Sandwich (2 sandwich bread stuffed with scramble eggs, a piece of meat and a slice of bacon)...

And with an additional of S$0.80, you get the mini hash browns (it was cute)
And so, i went for "business". As I was already informed, I will be meeting 5 different people to discuss about my business. Each for an hour including one teleconference discussion with the Australia side of the business. Anyway, the business went perfectly well. They said they want the business to be done, and I wanted more money from it. The best thing is, I even got my scheduled Korea trip in March next year fitted perfectly in between the business. The best part is, I got free ramen lunch and also my air ticket reimbursed in cash. The business deal completed early, so i had time and the extra CASH for shopping. And so......

Tada...... The Ipad

Such a busy time

Haha.. Apart from my internet being down-ed for the past week... I was damn blardy busy... But the best part is I've now been away from the office since day one of the month... I had been to Malaysian Re @Damansara Heights training for the past one week... The Fire Risk Inspection Training is to get all the new risk engineers that recently join the insurance industry to get them ready for site visits, hydraulic calculations and pump tests... After being a risk engineer myself for over 1 and a half year, the training is some what a refreshing course for me... N the best part is, they serve morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea... N the food is really good...

To top things up, I am attending another training this week with Malaysian Insurance Institute on Applying Insurance measures on preventing Property lose.. Sounds boring huh? But that's my job... It's held at Hotel Quality along Raja Laut... And next week, I am departing for Hong Kong... wooo hooooo.....

On a totally unrelated topic, I had my own Octoberfest celebration at Malones @KLCC last Friday. It was jammed pack with the Whites. Somehow, me and my mates found a tiny small table. So, I ordered my Heineken (I am pretty much not a Stout person although Malones is an Irish bar). Then Justin came and told me about this 1 liter of Tiger promotion for the Octoberfest. The part that made me ordered that was the mug. Once you're done with your drink, you can bring the mug home... It was really torturing, with the mug.. it's all worth it...

And it was really really big... See how huge it stands beside a pint of Guinness

Being a risk engineer

I started my career with AIG General Insurance Bhd on the 23rd of March 2009...

I meet clients having financial interest on their properties. Then I am to provide damage risk management which includes protecting them from fire and burglary exposures. I check on their alarm system, fire protection appliances and to ensure that all production is performed in tact with proper occupational health and safety measures.

The good part about having this job is that I have flexible hours. I don't need to be in the office and out of the office on time. I just need to get my reports out in due time. I also get to travel all around Malaysia handling our domestic clients. I get to stay in five star hotels around the country.

I get to see things more than a common guest or a patrons would get to see. For example, when you go to a spa. What you get to see is the facilities such as jacuzzi, massage cubicles, common area, etc. What i get to see is where they hid their "live stocks". Where they normally wait before business starts, how they travel through escape routes during raids and also what the authorities do during a raid. This is all part of my job as I need to understand the risk of the building being damage due to their operations. There was once, I was on the roof of a 25 storey building in KL. And when i say roof, i mean the roof. A roof made asbestos sheets and where there are no side barriers what soever preventing me from falling. The roof is where the live stocks run to during a raid. And to be at the roof, there are some dangerous routes that i need to take. Not dangerous to the extent that I am risking my life, but there could be a high possibility of myself getting injured.

The most funny experience happen recently when I have this encounter of the supernaturals. There is a new shopping cum office mall in the PJ experiencing a severe amount of claims due to their burst of water pipes. Yes, my job also includes understanding the piping system within a building. Okay, back to the story. There is this particular shop (my client) & another has occasional burst of water pipes within their premise. Normally, this could be explain in technical terms due to bottle necks and distribution causing excessive pressure within the pipes. However, there are no technical problems within the pipelines. So why the burst of pipe? Apparently, there are "kids" running the shops during after hours. And having to do my job and to please my curiosity, I had to move in to the "habitat" of the "kids". I finally know what it feels to be near the supernaturals.

There goes...
